Entry 057 | I read good now

It's shameful, but I haven't read a book in a long while. Yesterday, I was reading something online and I found myself having to sound out a word a tad longer that I felt comfortable. It wasn't even a big word but it did have a lot of syllables. I started fearing that I'm forgetting how to read. I'd been scanning book review lists and wanted to pick out a good one. But it's been so long and I don't feel that I want to commit to any one just yet; I think I need to ease into it. So today I picked up some magazines because as we know, magazines have more pictures.

My sister's getting married this weekend and I'm very excited for her. I hope to see all these months of planning and stress pimples finally pay off and that she has the best wedding EVAH. Above is a picture of my folks on their big day.

If you haven't seen The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, it's about time you did. Now! Do it! And if you have, it never hurts to watch it again. I saw it on wttw this morning and was once again inspired and motivated by his words. Rest in peace Randy.

This song was in the regular rotation of songs we sang in our elementary school music class. This song follows me around to this day (in my head!!) and forces me to pick up crap I see on the ground for fear that someone will slip on it and fall then break their hip. Or if when we're at Target, and I see Al slip a box of kleenex she decided she doesn't want in the stationery aisle, I'll yelp, "point of light!!" and ask her to return it to its proper aisle. Maybe I'm just an OCD ridden weirdo but I can't help it. It's ingrained in my head that if you see what's wrong and you try to make it riiight, you will be a point of liiiight. What a dork.
